The E-Pace, the sec­ond of Jaguar’s all-new SUVs and smaller sib­ling of the F-Pace, is rolling into show­rooms, priced from $47,750 with all-wheel drive and a nine-speed auto. It’s built on a new light­weight ar­chi­tec­ture that will be used for the next Range Rover Evoque.


When Holden pre-reg­is­tered hun­dreds of As­tras in De­cem­ber, it cre­ated a bar­gain pack­age that is still run­ning — 2017-plated mod­els are from $19,990 drive-away. The deal is for the R+ auto hatch and LS+ auto sedan and in­cludes a five-year war­ranty and three years of free sched­uled ser­vic­ing.

A flat bat­tery used to mean drag­ging out the jumper leads — now there are Pro­jecta’s lithium-ion pow­ered Jump Starters. Priced from about $290, they have in-built safety checks and can charge mo­bile phones and other de­vices.
