Dingley abode gives Macaro clan room to move

WHEN everyone in a big family wants their own bedroom, there’s not a great amount of choice on the market.

That’s what Sandra and Val Macaro found before they landed a seven-bedroom Dingley Village home in March.

The Macaros already lived in a five-bedroom Wheelers Hill home, having extended to accommodate their four children aged between two and 14.

Their search to find the ideal home took 18 months.

“We were looking for more bedrooms because they (the kids) wanted their own rooms,” Ms Macaro said. “That was the main thing. “lot of the homes we looked at were all four-bedroom homes.

“It’s rare to find a fivebedroom home and when we did, the price was very high.

“While we were looking, prices were going up and up. If we bought in Wheelers Hill (18 months ago), we could have bought for $820,000. Now they’re worth $1.1 million.

“That’s why we moved to Dingley, to get the price change.”

Ms Macaro said the most ideal homes had more bedrooms, but also offered more living space, including separate areas for parents and children.
