Park adds a mirror finish
STANDING out might be the aim of many new apartment buildings, but at a development in North Melbourne it’s all about blending in.
The Reflections apartment project’s 14m-high glass facade has been designed to mirror the landscape around it.
The 13-level development will be built at 108 Haines St overlooking Gardiner Reserve across the road.
Designed inside and out by Plus Architecture, the building is intended to connect with its surrounds and change form with the seasons.
“Not only do these residences offer incredible park-front views that will never be built out, but at street level, the building will actually reflect the image of the park and surrounding treetops to create a striking visual centrepiece,” Revel Development Group director Daniel Caspar said.
The connection with nature continues inside, with undulating timber lobby walls representing tree trunks and a leaf motif used on the ceiling.
The lobby will house a concierge service for residents, while a residents’ garden with sunken lounges, barbecue facilities, grassed areas and city views on level four is another communal highlight.
Mr Caspar said the development was geared at “discerning owner occupiers who demand quality”.
“Ideally positioned on the cusp of the CBD but offering all the shopping, cafe and lifestyle benefits of a quiet suburban location, Reflections provides the best of both worlds, with the added benefit of being within the University High School zone which will appeal to many families and couples,” he said.
They have 142 apartments to choose from, with 58 onebedroom designs, 81 twobedroom designs and three three-bedroom designs. There’s also the option of a study with one- and twobedroom apartments.
Sizes range from 40sq m to 101sq m, with buyers able to combine apartments to create larger homes.
Each apartment comes with a balcony or terrace, while luxury interior finishes include gloss stone benchtops and splashbacks, Miele appliances and oak floors.
All but six of the onebedroom apartments come with a basement car park. All have a storage cage.
One-bedroom apartments are priced from $359,000 to $525,000; two-bedroom apartments are $560,000 to $1 million; and three-bedroom designs are $900,000 to $925,000.
