“Fairfield is a very tightly held area,” he said. “There’s not a huge amount of turnover and the properties that do come on the market are quite popular, especially family homes.
“A lot of families are after the bigger homes and more space.
“Gillies St is one of the most sought-after streets. It’s treelined and a nice wide street and it is close to shops on Station St, so everything is literally at your doorstep.”
Mr De Iesi said several couples had shown interest in 26 Gillies St, where the price expectation was $1.25-$1.35 million.
“No one has thrown in firm offers. I think a lot of them are waiting for the auction at this stage,” he said.
“I think it’s still consistent, especially with the A-grade properties. It’s still consistent with the number of bidders that are bidding for it. That hasn’t really slowed for the typical properties.”
