“Fair­field is a very tightly held area,” he said. “There’s not a huge amount of turnover and the prop­er­ties that do come on the mar­ket are quite pop­u­lar, es­pe­cially fam­ily homes.

“A lot of fam­i­lies are af­ter the big­ger homes and more space.

“Gil­lies St is one of the most sought-af­ter streets. It’s tree­lined and a nice wide street and it is close to shops on Sta­tion St, so ev­ery­thing is lit­er­ally at your doorstep.”

Mr De Iesi said sev­eral cou­ples had shown in­ter­est in 26 Gil­lies St, where the price ex­pec­ta­tion was $1.25-$1.35 mil­lion.

“No one has thrown in firm of­fers. I think a lot of them are wait­ing for the auc­tion at this stage,” he said.

“I think it’s still con­sis­tent, es­pe­cially with the A-grade prop­er­ties. It’s still con­sis­tent with the num­ber of bid­ders that are bid­ding for it. That hasn’t really slowed for the typ­i­cal prop­er­ties.”

This home at 26 Gil­lies St in Fair­field is sched­uled to go un­der the ham­mer to­day.
