A BRIGHTON home, once owned by The Seek­ers’ Bruce Wood­ley and for­mer Vic­to­rian Premier John Cain Snr, is head­ing to auc­tion this month.

The Vic­to­rian bal­conied res­i­dence “Beaupre” at 22 Hal­i­fax St has graced the street since 1891.

The gor­geous three­bed­room home fea­tures grand for­mal rooms, con­tem­po­rary fam­ily liv­ing spa­ces and a gourmet kitchen, as well as trop­i­cal gar­dens and a swimming pool.

Cain Snr led Vic­to­rian La­bor govern­ments from 1945-47 and 1952-55, while the Seek­ers’ gui­tarist and song­writer fa­mously co-wrote

in 1987. Mar­shall White’s Stephen Smith is tak­ing the home to auc­tion on April 30, with price hopes of more than $3 mil­lion.
