Own a slice of Victorian history
A BRIGHTON home, once owned by The Seekers’ Bruce Woodley and former Victorian Premier John Cain Snr, is heading to auction this month.
The Victorian balconied residence “Beaupre” at 22 Halifax St has graced the street since 1891.
The gorgeous threebedroom home features grand formal rooms, contemporary family living spaces and a gourmet kitchen, as well as tropical gardens and a swimming pool.
Cain Snr led Victorian Labor governments from 1945-47 and 1952-55, while the Seekers’ guitarist and songwriter famously co-wrote
in 1987. Marshall White’s Stephen Smith is taking the home to auction on April 30, with price hopes of more than $3 million.
