THE Mt Eliza home of family smashed expectations at auction recently, fetching more than $200,000 over the reserve. His parents owned the beachside home at 13 Earimil Drive and the AFL commentator spent time there while growing up. Brownless (below) was at the auction of “Ballymena” — a five-bedroom period home set on a huge 1541sq m block with bay views and the shoreline just across the road. Brett Trebilcock, of Hocking Stuart, Mornington, said the home sold for $1.806 million. The reserve price was $1.6 million.
