TURNING on the heating before you get home or closing the blinds remotely with your smartphone is part of the nextlevel home automation in a new South Yarra development.

Perri Projects recently launched their tailored living concept in The Englefield project, offering home automation, personalised valet services and remote control technology through phone and tablet applications.

The deluxe low-rise project offers six apartments and a penthouse at 17-19 Chambers St, with two and three-bedroom configurations.

Smart devices will also operate the home’s lighting and cooling.

There is an around-theclock valet service, plus each apartment will also have their own valet space in the lobby to organise private collections and deliveries.

For security and privacy, the owner’s corporation will approve service providers to carry out in-home services like housekeeping and deliveries such as shopping.

Perri Projects director David Scalzo said the concept catered to a new demographic of discerning owner-occupiers considering apartment living for the first time.

“These buyers are seeking a luxury apartment with either two or three bedrooms, a study and a large outdoor entertaining space, in a lowrise, premium address that affords them the privacy they desire,” Mr Scalzo said.

He said the technology itself wasn’t new but it was often reserved for multimilliondollar homes due to the cost.

A range of luxurious materials and fittings reflect the million-dollar price tag, with Chevron timber floors, gas fireplaces, bronze feature mirrors and limestone bathroom benchtops.

The kitchen is furnished with Miele appliances including a five-burner cooktop and integrated fridge and freezers, as well as LED strip lighting, stone splashbacks and feature brass tapware.

Internal sizes range from 134-136sq m for two-bedroom layouts and 153-187sq m for three-bedroom floorplans.

Buyers can expect to pay from $1.85 million to $1.99 million for the two-bedroom configurations, while threebedroom dwellings range from $2.35 million to $2.69 million.

The Englefield is expected to be completed in late 2017.
