Home takes on a starring film role
DION Besser is on a mission to end “boring real estate marketing”.
The Besser & Co chief executive has taken the promotion of a Malvern East townhouse to a new level, by creating a short film to showcase it.
Mr Besser called in professional actors, and writer and director Anastasia Fai of video production company Style and Image, to create the eight minute-long
The film depicts a day in the life of a woman living at 4/24 Hyslop Pde, which is due to go to auction on May 21 with a price guide of $700,000 to $770,000.
“A lot of real estate agents are doing videos where they walk through a house, highlighting its features,” Mr Besser said.
“I realised we needed to figure out a way to give our properties an edge over the others.”
The film depicts the townhouse’s fictional owner Kate Evans — played by ShaeLee Shackleford of the comedy trio SketchShe, which has featured on — spending her birthday at home. The film subtly shows off the two-bedroom home’s sleek upstairs open-plan living and dining area, its chic stone kitchen and the urban forest at its doorstep.
Mr Besser said as well as giving the property an edge over others like it, the aim of the film was to “add emotion” to the home for potential buyers.
The agent said he picked this home to show in film because of the architectural design but it was also “something people can relate to”.
A trailer for the video was launched on Youtube, realestate.com.au and other listings websites last month, before the full film was released this week.
Mr Besser said listings for the home had received “thousands more views” than the average property in the Malvern East area.
Regardless of how this townhouse sells, Mr Besser said his agency planned to create more mini-movies for their properties in the future.
