FORMER Miss Australia has listed the Hidden Valley home she built six years ago. Ms Downes (below) won the national beauty pageant in 1973 and went on to become a TV presenter, working on Channel 10’s alongside and as a weather girl on Channel 7. Selling agent Brendan Flynn, of Barry Plant, Mitchell Shire, said Ms Downes built 16 Eastern Ridge in the “peaceful” Hidden Valley estate, near Wallan, on land that formerly belonged to billionaire
The estate features about 650 houses, as well as a golf course and horse facilities.
Mr Flynn said Ms Downes was an equine enthusiast who kept horses on her 1ha property, which has professionally landscaped gardens.
The house has three bedrooms each with ensuites and walk-in wardrobes, while the main also has a spa bath.
The house also has a large study, a sheltered outdoor entertaining area and two separate living areas, one with gas log fireplace. The property is being offered for private sale, with a price guide of $700,000 to $750,000. Mr Flynn is due to hold the home’s first open for inspection from noon today.
