DE­VEL­OPER Mir­vac has notched up a cen­tury at its Jack Rd hous­ing de­vel­op­ment in Chel­tenham.

Beau­maris dad Michael Hay­den, wife Sally and their chil­dren are the es­tate’s 100th buy­ers, re­cently pur­chas­ing a four-bed­room fam­ily home known as The An­der­son.

Mr Hay­den said the de­vel­op­ment’s lo­ca­tion and the home’s de­sign were ma­jor sell­ing points for his fam­ily.

“You’ve got all the amenity that sub­urbs like Beau­maris have to of­fer at your doorstep,” he said.

“I was al­ways happy with the lo­ca­tion and we just wanted some­thing that was low­main­te­nance and that could be built with­out too much fuss be­cause I didn’t want to de­vote the time and at­ten­tion to de­sign­ing a place my­self.

“Mir­vac’s got a good name and the de­sign of the house just re­ally suits us.”

The cou­ple and three of their four chil­dren — aged 11, 14 and 22 — hope to move into their new home by Christ­mas.

Their home will be one of 183 in the 4.2ha mas­ter­planned es­tate when com­pleted next year, with a mix of free­stand­ing houses, town­houses and lowrise apart­ments.

Mir­vac head of res­i­den­tial John Carfi said Jack Rd’s di­verse hous­ing op­tions were meet­ing strong de­mand for new homes in the es­tab­lished area.

“Prior to Jack Rd, just 750 homes were be­ing added to the Chel­tenham mar­ket each year, while de­mand was pre­dicted at 1100 homes an­nu­ally,” he said.

“Buy­ers are recog­nis­ing Jack Rd of­fers a rare op­por­tu­nity to buy a new home in this es­tab­lished and well-re­garded area.”

Mr Carfi said young fam­i­lies placed in­creas­ing im­por­tance on com­mu­nity-fo­cused ameni­ties that en­cour­aged their chil­dren to play and ex­plore in lo­cal parks and play­grounds.

“To keep up with these buyer re­quests, Mir­vac will soon com­mence con­struc­tion on a $500,000 new cen­tral com­mu­nity park named Jack’s Park, which is planned for de­liv­ery early next year,” he said.

Con­struc­tion of the $130 mil­lion de­vel­op­ment started in March last year.

It fea­tures a range of two and three-bed­room town­houses, three and four-bed­room fam­ily homes, and two-bed­room lowrise apart­ments.

Town­houses are priced from $735,000, fam­ily homes are priced from $830,000 and apart­ments are from $555,000.
