SHIFTING THE HORIZON
A custom-built display home sets a new standard in luxury living
THE term urban oasis is epitomised in the custom-built Horizon by Latitude 37.
The grand scale of the house and its captivating outdoor entertainment zones creates a sense of luxury reminiscent of a resort. Latitude 37 design manager Chris Sfiligoj said the home made an immediate impression.
“The two-storey entrance, located on the side of the property, immediately opens up through a 6m tall window looking on to the pool,” Mr Sfiligoj said.
Designed for a sloping 900sq m corner block with over 4m of fall, the property has been designed around the centrally located swimming pool, which provides a breathtaking backdrop to much of the home.
“The ground floor master suite overlooking the pool, coupled with its lavish ensuite and walk-in robe, is a standout feature,” Mr Sfiligoj said.
“The use of the central courtyard to place the pool and importantly allow crucial north light to penetrate into many rooms of the home sets the property apart.”
The home steps through four different ground-floor levels to engage with the fall of land, minimising the need for earthworks and retaining walls.
The changing floor levels also allow varying ceiling heights, adding visual interest and zoning of different areas.
Living spaces dominate the ground floor, including a kitchen, dining and family zone that flows to the outdoor entertaining zone.
Outside, the swimming pool is the centrepiece, while the built-in outdoor kitchen and cedar-clad ceiling to the outdoor area are welcome inclusions.
The ground floor also features a stand-alone living area, providing plenty of space for even the largest of families to relax and gather with friends.
A mudroom, laundry and cellar, which has internal windows looking on to the kitchen, complete the ground floor.
Upstairs, three bedrooms, including one with a walk-in robe and ensuite, are accompanied by a rumpus room and central bathroom.
