Late designer’s work on show

Herald Sun - Property - - MARKET REPORT -

LATE interior designer Stuart Rattle’s final project is on the market for $9 million-plus.

The renowned industry figure modernised the elegant circa-1925, four-bedroom house at 42 Heyington Rd, Toorak, in the years leading up to his murder in December 2013.

Kay & Burton, South Yarra, agent Gowan Stubbings said the stately two-storey residence was some of the leading designer’s “finest work.”

“This is a striking looking home from the front and ... it’s been modernised from yesteryear to the current day,” he said.

Coffered ceilings, European oak floors, garden access and a limestone fireplace are features of the formal and informal living spaces. Marble benchtops, Italian tapware, bespoke cabinetry and a butler’s pantry are highlights of the kitchen.

A Kay & Burton expressions of interest private sale campaign closes November 28 at 5pm.
