Saint is selling up
FORMER St Kilda AFL star and three-time All Australian Lenny
Hayes is selling his Brighton house with price hopes of $2.25 million-plus. The 297-game club champion called 68 Head St home during some of his time in Melbourne and has rented out the three-bedroom property in recent years.
Now a midfield coach working with the young talent at Greater Western Sydney, it was time for Hayes to part ways with the circa-1920s pad, Kay & Burton’s Michael Armstrong said.
“It’s a good opportunity in the current market — it’s a popular style of property at the moment so just the timing was right for him,” Mr Armstrong said.
“It’s in a very good position because it’s opposite Elsternwick Park and that’s a very popular spot there.
“There’s good scope for developers either to do a townhouse development, or for someone to renovate the house or build a single house, so there are a few options attached to this one.”
The 714sq m corner block has frontage to Foote and Head streets and features an inground pool and covered outdoor entertaining area.
“It’s got some very good-sized rooms, that’s one of the great strengths of it,” Mr Armstrong said. “It sits pretty well on the block. If renovating you wouldn’t need to move around a lot of walls, you could work with the existing floorplan quite well.”
Kay & Burton will auction the property on December 10 at 1pm.
