THE ra­dio an­chor for Nova 100’s break­fast show grew up in country WA. He got his start in ra­dio on min­ing sta­tion Red FM and later worked for Nova in Perth. In 2011, he moved to Mel­bourne to host late nights na­tion­ally on the Nova Net­work be­fore be­ing of­fered his cur­rent gig.

The 31-year-old, known as “Deano”, has been on a health kick, los­ing about 30kg in the past year.

“I have lost this huge amount of weight in the past, but this time it is more of a lifestyle thing that I want to main­tain,” he said.

He lives in Carl­ton with a flat­mate.

Dur­ing the week I am up at 4am so on the week­ends I try and sleep in un­til about 11am. I roll out of bed and it’s off to brunch with my friends. Most of them are Perth ex­pats, so we get the quiz texted to us from the lo­cal Perth pa­per and we all do the quiz over brunch.
