PRIDE of place on the piano in his city apartment sits this singer’s latest award: an Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) music award for his sixth album,

The album rocketed to No. 1 on the ARIA albums chart on the day of its release in September. No stranger to chart-topping success, Callea launched his career in 2004 with debut single which became the fastest-selling single by an Australian artist.

Callea wrote and recorded his latest album’s title song, in Los Angeles in just two days. He said it was a reflection on honesty and trust in relationships, and on his own relationship with his husband, actor and singer Tim Campbell.

Callea and Campbell will both sing at the 79th Vision Australia Carols by Candlelight, at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, airing at 8pm on Christmas Eve on Channel 9 (for tickets and donations, see carols.visionaustralia.org).
