FORMER St Kilda and Essendon player Neil Besanko is booting his family home of more than two decades.

The 1971 Grand Final player and wife Becky have price hopes of $3-$3.3 million for the charming five-bedroom house at 57 Guildford Rd, Surrey Hills, where they raised their children.

It’s set to go under the hammer at 11.30am today.

Marshall White agent Duane Wolowiec said the family was downsizing after 23 years at the 1911 Wistaria in a quiet, tree-lined street.

“They’ve updated it tastefully throughout and it’s been immaculately looked after. The way this has been maintained is a real credit to the Besanko family,” he said.

The kitchen, bathrooms and landscaping are among the features that have been updated and lovingly maintained.

Ceiling roses, original fireplaces, coloured leadlight windows and a timber fretwork arch give the home plenty of character.

Set on just over 1000sq m, the property also has two street frontages. “Street frontage to the rear is quite a rare opportunity,” Mr Wolowiec said.
