The Royal Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal Good Fri­day Ap­peal be­gins on Fri­day at 9.30am.

The ap­peal, founded by The Her­ald and Weekly Times in 1931, has raised more than $140 mil­lion over the years. Last year, Vic­to­ri­ans do­nated a record $11,788,970.87.

This year’s tele­cast will fea­ture Seven’s favourite faces, in­clud­ing Good Fri­day Ap­peal pa­tron Jen­nifer Keyte. More than 500 vol­un­teers man­age the phone lines in the tally room. The phones will be open from 9.30am to mid­night.

Sandy Roberts will host the morn­ing ses­sion, cross­ing reg­u­larly to the hospi­tal, the tally room and Tel­stra Dome. Andrew O’Keefe and Grant Denyer will present the af­ter­noon ses­sion.

The evening tele­cast will in­clude per­for­mances by Vanessa Amorosi, An­thony Cal­lea, Ricki-Lee Coul­ter, Ma­halia Barnes and Kate Alexa.
