Timeslot a nightmare
Letter of the week
BEING huge fans of Supernatural, my friends and I are not at all impressed by the 9.40pm timeslot. It’s so frustrating having to wait until Rove has finished because he ends up running over time. Whatever happened to it being on at 8.30pm? At least then we had some time after the show to calm down from all the excitement before bedtime. Now it takes me ages to fall asleep, which isn’t good when I have to work the next day. So please Channel 10, put it back on in its original timeslot. It’s too good a show to be on at that ridiculous time of night.
Look who’s cooking
from Patricia Woolcock, Viewbank WHEN David Reyne first joined Kim Watkins on their morning show on Ten, he was absolutely hopeless in the cooking segments. He always seemed so belligerent. But he has mellowed or become more comfortable in his role, and is more entertaining than the actual cooking bit.
Here’s to the next 100
from Roslyn Shelly, Berwick CONGRATULATIONS Maggie and Simon on 100 episodes of The Cook and the Chef. A great show, so relaxing and fun to watch. I look forward to it every week, and I look forward to the next 100. And if I do happen to miss it I can catch it on ABC2 on a Thursday night.
Reach for the remote
from City Slicker, South Yarra RE: Country discomfort (Guide, June 11). To Tiffany of Castlemaine, is it just my imagination or don’t people in the country have their own nightly news? Just remember that you do have an ‘‘off’’ button on your remote— if indeed you have remotes in Castlemaine.
Restless for more
from Trudy Mill, email JUST wondering where Young and the Restless is on Foxtel. I thought it was on theWchannel but haven’t seen it for some time. Please Channel 9, bring it back (in my dreams). At least I still have Days of Our Lives.
Out in the cold: Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki (left) and Jensen Ackles have been banished to a late timeslot.
On the boil:
David Reyne and Kim Watkins know what’s cooking.
