TONI Pearen is considering a dramatic return to television once she’s done with dancing.

Before hosting Australia’s Funniest Home Videos for Channel 9, Pearen was best known in Australia for her starring role on E Street.

Pearen says she has started taking acting lessons and may go back to her dramatic roots once Dancing with the Stars is over.

Pearen, along with best pal and fellow actor Kym Wilson, spent several years in Los Angeles trying to forge a career. She says roles in Australia could be equally difficult to come by.

But Pearen feels positive about where the local industry is now heading.

‘‘I’m feeling really good about it,’’ she says. ‘‘It’s really exciting. ‘‘From what I’ve seen in the trailers some great new shows are on TV now— Rush and Packed to the Rafters look great.

‘‘It’s great to see the networks are prepared to put money into something other than reality TV.’’
