GEOFF Cox has plenty to celebrate.

Apart from making a strong comeback from surgery to remove a tumour from his bowel, Cox looks forward to fronting Channel 7’s New Year’s Eve coverage.

‘‘I just love the idea of working New Year’s Eve,’’ Cox says.

‘‘This year they have some wonderful camera positions planned. The shots are going to be astounding. We’ve got Lord Mayor Robert Doyle doing the countdown, Mel Hetherington and Michael Felgate at Federation Square and Tom Rehn and Mia Greves out in the crowd.

‘‘I’m at the Langham pool party— the prime position for it all. There will be a showbiz wrap for the year, sports wrap and news is doing the year in review.’’
