GARY Sweet (below) is one of Rachel Ward’s co-stars in Rain Shadow and he says the ABC drama is shot from a realistic perspective.
‘‘In some ways, it’s a nonromantic look at a community that’s suffering with the drought. There are some really interesting rural characters,’’ he says.
Sweet’s character, the mysterious Larry Riley, is one of these intriguing individuals and one of the only two nonrural characters in the series.
‘‘While he lives in the community, he has a tenuous relationship with it,’’ Sweet says of his character.
‘‘I guess the show is about moral truth so everybody behaves according to their own morality. Let’s just say Larry’s morality may differ at times from the conventional line.’’
