Viva Lass Vegas
Posing naked in the desert near the casino city is no problem, writes Erin McWhirter
EMILY Scott has proven herself to be one mean marketing and publicity machine. The Dancing with the Stars contestant is a gossip columnist’s dream, having made an impact for posing naked in the desert near Las Vegas, dating Little Britain star David Walliams and appearing in a Robbie Williams video clip.
Scott, 26, who is combining work as a model and DJ with her role on Dancing With the Stars, has lost a degree of privacy as a result of her media appearances.
Images of Scott and Walliams were splashed across British tabloids during their interlude, for example, but the model seems unaffected by the hype.
‘‘He (Walliams) was obviously getting a lot of attention at the time and I just didn’t pay much attention to it,’’ she says.
‘‘(I met him) after one of the shows I had been in. He’s really great, he’s really romantic and his family is beautiful and I became really close to them. I like to laugh and do believe you can’t take life or yourself too seriously.’’
That also goes for stripping for photo shoots and porn sites that flash up when Scott’s name is typed into search engines.
‘‘They (nude shoots) weren’t something I had an issue with, I was not shy about stuff like that,’’ she says matter-of-factly.
As for being linked to porn on the internet, she says: ‘‘If you’re in the public eye, whether you’re an actress or a model or in TV in any way, you’re probably going to find yourself on those sites at some point.’’
Scott has been spending up to 15 hours a week learning dance moves and building on her fitness, but remains unsure how long she can last in the Channel 7 show.
‘‘I don’t think I’ve ever done enough training. Maybe if I train for three years,’’ says Scott, who is dancing with Michael Miziner.
‘‘I am feeling nervous, but there have been no broken bones, just a few blisters.’’
Stars in her eyes: Emily Scott, with dance partner Michael Miziner, is not fazed by publicity.
