I say, Jason’s right

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Out Of The Box -

from Coral, Croydon North I READ all the letters sent into the Guide each week and if there was a letter of the year award, I’d vote for Jason of Doncaster (Guide, Dec 24) because I too am sick of hearing complaints almost every week about incorrect pronunciation. Well done, Jason, you summed the issue up perfectly. We should not make the mistake of equating spoken language with its written counterpart. And you are so right in saying that those who insist on policing pronunciation are more annoying than those who mispronounce.
