5 KLIPSCH IMAGE S4I

Powermove, $149.95, powermove.com.au

★★★★ THESE earbuds don’t take up more room than standard iPod earbuds and do not look particularly rugged or technologically superior. That they can deliver songs with amazing bass and sweet melodies therefore comes as a surprise. Klipsch Image S4i earbuds are designed for iPhone use, as the remote on its cord can control volume and incoming calls, but it also controls songs on regular iPods.

6 iPOD NANO

Apple, $199, apple.com.au

★★★★

ONCE dubbed the Fatboy Nano, this iPod has been on a diet. The fourth generation Nano now looks more like the Shuffle: small, square, brightly coloured and cute as a technologically advanced button. A 1.5-inch touchscreen replaces all but three of its buttons: only two volume buttons and a sleep button remain. This tiny 8GB iPod shines and offers extras such as Genius playlists, FM, games and a pedometer.
