Herald Sun - Switched On - - Cover Story -

IT'S a perilous task – destined to arouse the passions and possibly the ire of television viewers. Switched On, however, is having a crack at listing the year's most influential people on Australian TV. There are people who make the rankings purely because they tapped into the mass market and achieved great ratings success. Others are in the top 20 because they illustrated a sense of daring and intelligence, played a part in creating a new trend, or produced an impressive arc of career progress. And we've not ignored those who should be feeling more than a little red-faced about their performances. MasterChef, hopefully in a fashion documentary series and maybe a travel program with George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan. Action-thriller Ice and war drama Out Of The Night.
