DS, $59.95

★★★★ The opening scene in this game sees the player’s character lying dead on the ground. Who was he? Why was he murdered? As players unravel the mystery before them, they’ll come across a wonderfully presented game with a zany storyline and offbeat characters. The gameplay is clever too. Another hit from the team behind Phoenix Wright. Out now.

PlayStation Mini, $4.99

★★★ Angry Birds was a colossal hit on iPhone, so it makes sense for it to spread its wings. The film is a little way off (no, really), but the game has now come to the PlayStation Mini service. This PSP adaptation works well, with the same addictive gameplay: fling birds from a catapult to blow down the houses and kill the nefarious pigs. That said, it’s hard not to be disappointed by the average graphics and inconsistent frame rate. Out now.
