OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER v MIAMI HEAT

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Cover Story -

One of my favourite Tom Hanks moments comes in the movie A League of their Own. Coaching one of the women’s teams, a player starts to cry after he berates her. He goes on to scream: ‘‘There’s no crying in baseball, there’s no crying in baseball.’’ While there may not be any crying in baseball, there is in basketball. After losing to the Chicago Bulls by a point last week, the Heat became embroiled in what has become known as Crygate (Watergate has a lot to answer for, any scandal in the US almost immediately becomes something gate, very unimaginitive). Heat coach Erik Spolstra was asked how his players reacted to the loss, he told the media there were tears, and crygate was born. We hope they don’t burst into tears if they lose today.
