★★★★ It’s slender, smart and offers Google software made specifically for tablets. Samsung’s newest tablet is not only bigger than its first effort, but much more mature. The Galaxy Tab 10.1, as its name suggests, has a 10.1-inch screen and is easily viewed from an angle. It offers a generous canvas for Android apps, as do the five available homescreens the new Honeycomb software provides. There are no external navigation buttons — replaced by on-screen icons — though there is space for a SIM card, microphone, volume rocker and On button. Hardware-wise, the Tab uses a dual-core 1GHz processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, 16GB memory and weighs 599g.
