These in­clude a Live Panel dis­play that lets you com­bine wid­gets — news, weather, email and con­tact in­for­ma­tion — into one panel.

New hubs also have been added to gather your mu­sic and so­cial feeds as well as games and read­ing ma­te­rial.

Plus, the Galaxy S II has its own voice com­mand sys­tem, called Voice Talk, that lets you wake the phone with a ‘‘ Hi Galaxy’’ and in­struct it to tran­scribe and send a text mes­sage, call some­one, take a memo or con­jure up street di­rec­tions. It’s not dis­sim­i­lar to Google’s Voice Com­mand, also avail­able on this phone, but it of­fers ex­tra pol­ish.
