★★★ As far as movie tie-in games go, Rise of the Manhunters is entirely competent. Its God of War-style combat is decent, if too easy, with a reasonable upgrade system, and the flying sequences provide a good change of pace. While the graphics are merely passable, the presentation is solid, with voice work by Ryan Reynolds and drop-in, drop-out cooperative gameplay. Worth a look for fans. Out now.

Android, $5

★★★★ THE makers of Game Dev Story return with another great strategy title. This time, players are in charge of a racing team and must manage staff as well as build and upgrade cars. There’s great visual feedback on how players are going which ensures gameplay stays fresh. As the game progresses, races get more complex with more surfaces to worry about, so having the right cars for the conditions is critical. Out now.
