AN­DREW Daddo’s mother is a witch (in a nice way) and his Los An­ge­les-based brother Cameron is a believer.

But keep­ing a bal­ance be­tween trust­ing the spir­i­tual world and main­tain­ing a healthy scep­ti­cism is now part of this Chan­nel 7 pre­sen­ter’s job. Host­ing a new sea­son of The One, in search of Aus­tralia’s ‘‘ most gifted psy­chic’’, has tested Daddo’s faith in the un­ex­plained.

Keep­ing a straight face about the sub­ject mat­ter is even harder when his in­stinct is to find the funny side to life.

‘‘ If we get lost, my son (Felix) will go, ‘ Dad, con­sult your spirit guide.’ He’s 12 and hi­lar­i­ous,’’ he says.

Jokes aside, Daddo be­lieves ‘‘ a small, fi­nite num­ber of peo­ple’’
