PEO­PLE watch things for all sorts of rea­sons. Some­times they’re neg­a­tive rea­sons. I watch Home and Away be­cause I can’t watch the 7pm news or what­ever – that kind of thing. Some­times they’re much flim­sier.

Such as this: I’m send­ing you in the di­rec­tion of White Col­lar based on the fact Tim DeKay was in Car­ni­vale.

No­body saw Car­ni­vale. It was an HBO show – they only made two se­ries, should’ve made three. It was hard and weird and sad and right up there on my list of best shows.

I’m fairly cer­tain if you asked Tim DeKay what the great­est role of his ca­reer was, and will be, he’d say Jonesy in Car­ni­vale. I’d never seen him in any­thing else be­fore or since – un­til White Col­lar. He’s pretty good as the FBI agent Peter Burke, be­cause clearly this guy DeKay is one hell of an ac­tor, and he also gets to stand along­side Matt Bomer most of the time. Matt looks like a supermodel. So if Tim DeKay weren’t in this show, I’d be in­clined to give White Col­lar a look to see Matt Bomer from var­i­ous an­gles.
