coming into the clinic to say hi and they’re from Brazil it does spin your head a bit,’’ Brown says with a laugh.

Being Australia’s most famous vet has other benefits. Brown is now a regular on The 7PM Project and is tipped to make appearances on Ten’s new Breakfast.

But it is obvious Brown treats the showbiz life with the right amount of disdain.

‘‘ I do a job I love and it is rare when I’m not in the vet clinic four or five days a week,’’ he says.

‘‘ At the same time, I love new challenges and The 7PM Project has brought that. It doesn’t leave much time for anything else.

‘‘ It is a really stimulating mix that uses every part of my brain every day.’’

Yes, but surely making it big in the US holds some allure?

You can’t help but think Brown has the looks and the charm to replicate Jamie Durie or Curtis Stone’s US success.

‘‘ The USA is certainly something I’ve had discussions about,’’ he says.

‘‘ There has been some interest in the show in the States but it is an incredibly hard market to crack.

‘‘ For the show to be aired over there would be great and it is something I’ve done a lot of work towards.

‘‘ I like the idea of working in the States, but I’m so busy here that finding the time is the hardest challenge of all.’’ Bondi Vet, Channel 10, tonight, 8pm
