The Killing not only fol­lows a strong fe­male char­ac­ter, but the ex­ec­u­tive pro­ducer, and the di­rec­tor of the pi­lot, are women too.

‘‘ It’s amaz­ing to me how there are still so many more male di­rec­tors,’’ Enos says. ‘‘ I like men di­rec­tors but it is a re­ally lovely ex­pe­ri­ence work­ing on a show that had so many strong fe­male voices.’’ The Killing Tonight, ONE, 8.30pm
