Doc­martin had 1.3 mil­lion view­ers last week and will, I fear, dis­ap­pear from the ABC TV line-up. I ex­pect the next se­ries will be bought by a com­mer­cial net­work. Nu­mer­ous ad­ver­tis­ing breaks, can­cel­la­tions to fit in with sport­ing com­mit­ments, chang­ing times and nights be­cause viewer numbers are down will be the re­sult. Life wasn’t meant to be easy.
