HOW do you think Seth’s go­ing to go in re­hab? It’s just money up against the wall as far as Joel and Ju­lia go, I would’ve thought. Bit rich re­ally, Sarah even ask­ing her sis­ter to pay for her ex-hus­band’s treat­ment when Joel and Ju­lia are in the process of adopt­ing a baby il­le­gally from the cof­fee girl at Ju­lia’s of­fice. Or at any time. I thought the grumpy fa­ther was way out of line, sit­ting there on his couch those cou­ple of episodes ago, us­ing words like clean and sober, all the jar­gon, lec­tur­ing not just his adult daugh­ter but also his adult wife, telling her she wasn’t to give Sarah any money ei­ther. But now I’m not so sure.

His be­hav­iour was ap­palling, it gen­er­ally is, but was he wrong about Seth? Maybe not. It just wasn’t any of his busi­ness. But that wouldn’t be in the spirit of Par­ent­hood, Zeek keep­ing out of it. Any­way, tonight we’re go­ing to see how hard it’s go­ing to be.
