IT’S go­ing to be funny if Rus­sell winds up with Liz. Or is it? Not re­ally. I’m only go­ing to care for as long as it takes me to get to the end of this one-sided con­ver­sa­tion we’re hav­ing. But Liz is sin­gle and des­per­ate and hope­less (or this is Jeff’s de­scrip­tion, and he’s one of her friends) and so’s Rus­sell, and it just seems pre-or­dained by the laws of sit­coms. Un­less Rus­sell (David Spade) gets to­gether with Timmy’s sis­ter. He has a bit of a flirty thing with her in tonight’s first episode, but it’s in­ter­net­based, and who hasn’t got one of those on the half-sim­mer? Do I see a hand up the back there? If you had to punt, you’d bet on Liz, based on some of the re­veal­ing things we learn about her. She’s played by Wendi Mclen­don- Covey, Maya Ru­dolph’s cousin Rita in Brides­maids, but also Deputy Cle­men­tine John­son in Reno 911!. Plus as soon as Timmy finds out Rus­sell’s been chat­ting to his sis­ter he for­bids him from tak­ing it any fur­ther. Rus­sell — who is Timmy’s em­ployer (or Satan’s wet nurse, as Timmy puts it)— is out­raged. ‘‘ For­bid? What am I, a child?’’ Timmy’s like, of course not, and by the way,
