LAUREN German, who played The Hitchhiker in blood-drenched horror flick Texas Chainsaw Massacre, has been signed to boost cop series Hawaii 5-0. The Orange County-born actor is one of several new faces to join the show. Others on the payroll include Tom Sizemore, Patty Duke and Billy Baldwin. German will have a recurring role as ex-homeland Security Officer Laurie Weston. What’s it like being part of this Hawaii 5-0 group? Great. I definitely was a fish out of water when I got here. Even Pumping up the action and intensity. Just to have Tom Sizemore . . . I haven’t gotten to know him as a person yet but I’ve had a couple of scenes with him and he’s so good and so intense. Terry O’quinn and Billy Baldwin are also great. We’re going on boats and underwater and in the air and

flying planes and I think the producers are trying to make it a big, big season. My character is Lori Weston and she comes from a homeland security background and she’s tight with the governor. Can you tell us about your first day on set? Alex (O’loughlin) and Scott (Caan) give me a lot of s--about my first day. They still laugh about it. I’m sitting there in high-heeled boots with a gun digging into me. They throw the three of us on horses, right. It’s like three amigo-style, walking down a dirt road. I’m pouring sweat, terrified of horses. My horse didn’t want to move, it just wanted to eat. So someone came up and swatted my horse. It wanted to buck me off. I went up in the air and I was shaking. Then we were doing a stunt and I put my gun in the wrong way. It was mess up after mess up. Alex spends a bit of time shirtless on the show . . . He hasn’t been shirtless around me. Which I demand. I haven’t been shirtless (laughs) . . . not with my double-a breasts. Hawaii 5-0, Channel 10, Wednesday, 8.30pm
