PANASONIC HC-V10 VIDEO RECORDER

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Gadgets -

Panasonic, $299 panasonic.com.au ★★★ Panasonic’s digital video camera sits neatly in your hand and is a highdefinition, lightweight camcorder that would suit point and shoot fans. It has a 31.6mm wide-angle lens, so you can take great content indoors. The 63X optical zoom which, with enhancement, acts as a 70X optical zoom, gets you in close. While the LCD viewer is not a touchscreen, the menu, enter and navigation buttons are easy to operate. Apart from face detection, optical image stabilisation and intelligent audio, you can upload and share video to Facebook and Youtube. It has a three-second buffer in pre-record mode and the quick start mode will have you shooting in 0.8 of a second. Available from April, it is likely to be a hit in its price point. Two drawbacks are the manual lens cover and the odd positioning of the record button.
