Channel 9, Sunday, 7.30pm ★★★★ It was the late, great comedian and actor Maurie Fields who, between sips of beer at a Logie Awards ceremony, quietly suggested you’d have rocks in your head to take on the hosting gig. He had a point. Winning over the crowd in a Logies ballroom is considered one of TV’S all-time tough tasks. Probably explains why this year therewill be a number of presenters rather than a solo host. Here’s hoping therewill be some moments this year that are genuinely good — singers Tony Bennett and Seal should add some class — but we’ll also be on the lookout for moments that are memorable for all thewrong reasons. Can we please have a booze-spiked acceptance speech from award nominee Karl Stefanovic? And who will be the attention-craving starlet who’d have had more flesh covered up if she’d arrived wearing a couple of Band-aids? DD
