No laughing matter

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Front Page -

The ABC used to produce very good comedy programs— Mother and Son, Kath and Kim. Now, unfortunately it is sinking to the bottom of the barrel with Randling and Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell. Randling is as weak as the product of a cat’s bladder and Andrew Denton’s talent is wasted in this piece of utter absurdity. How he allowed himself to get involved in this travesty is beyond me. As for Micallef, he must be the most unfunny ‘‘ funny’’ man on television. The ABC should axe both programs immediately, use Denton’s talents more wisely and send Micallef back to whatever dull background from which he came. Undoubtedly, a few may disagree with me, but I would sooner see reruns of Yes, Prime Minister or Open All Hours than these two bits of garbage masquerading as comedy.
