Channel 7, Tuesday, 7.30pm ★★★★ The thing I like about this show is the way the story jumps between two worlds. In tonight’s episode, Emma (Jennifer Morrison, right, with Lana Parrilla) comes to the aid of two children who are caught shoplifting and helps track down their father before they are placed in foster care. The parallel story is Hansel and Gretel, their connection with The Evil Queen and the Blind Witch. Just on Hansel and Gretel, I’ve always wondered what the moral of this fairytale was: don’t let your father re-marry someone nasty; don’t run away from home; if you’re a witch, don’t eat children or it will backfire; if you kill a witch, make sure you search her house for treasure; if you’re a stepmother, don’t be mean to your kids? Beats me. Fans of Lost will notice the reference Once Upon a Time creators — Lost writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz — thread into this episode. Keep a close eye on the stolen items.
