THE Circle, one of Mornings’ competitors in the ratings race, was chopped last week by Channel 10. Now Nine’s Mornings has Channel 7’s The Morning Show, hosted by Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies, in its sights. ‘‘I knew with Mornings that we (Sonia Kruger and co-host David Campbell) would be given time to develop and make it our own,’’ Kruger says. ‘‘The way I saw it was that it ( Mornings) was a whole new show. I was not keen to do it single-handed (be the sole host) and I don’t think Nine contemplated it either. ‘‘It wasn’t really Kerri-Anne being replaced. It wasn’t like all of a sudden I turned up and took over her show. ‘‘ Mornings is one of those shows that offers longevity whereas prime time ( Big Brother’s time slot) . . . weknow how fickle that can be.’’
