Fewer pro­mos please

ARE there any oth­ers out there who are com­pletely and ut­terly fed up with Chan­nel 7’s con­stant pro­mo­tions for The X Fac­tor? While on the sub­ject, Seven is also the ma­jor cul­prit in plac­ing their pro­mo­tions con­stantly through the ad breaks. I re­mem­ber read­ing once that these pro­mo­tions are ac­tu­ally con­sid­ered pro­gram­ming as part of the broad­cast rules. If this is cor­rect, then ACMA needs to se­ri­ously re­write the broad­cast rules for TV sta­tions. It cer­tainly ex­plains why ac­tual pro­grams are cut to the bone these days to fit in as many pro­mos and ads as pos­si­ble.
