DIANNE BUTLER OUT OF THE BOX

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Monday - MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, Soho, Foxtel, 9.30pm

JOE hits a possum and almost has a breakdown over it. He eats goji berries. He’s that guy. He and his two friends have known each other since uni, and they’re now horribly gripped by middle age. Owen (Andre Braugher) has diabetes and sleep apnoea and works in a car dealership. Terry (Scott Bakula, pictured) is a flake, a part-time everything. Ray Romano is Joe, and he also wrote this. I like him much more here than in Everybody Loves Raymond. He does about 99 per cent less show-boating. This is a pretty funny show, much funnier than I’d expected. I hope it holds up because I’m in.
