Mydisabled daughter likes to watch TV onmyiPod Touch but, obviously, when she touches the screen it turns off and she gets frustrated. Is there a way to turn off the touchscreen while viewing video?

There is an option to restrict this touch sensitivity as long as you’re using the latest Apple software. In iOS 6, Apple added a feature called Guided Access. You can turn this on by visiting Settings, General, Accessibility and selecting it. It can be turned on and off in any app by triple-clicking on the Home button and it lets users disable the touchscreen, motion or the Home button.
