Herald Sun - Switched On - - Monday - JOAN RIVERS: A PIECE OF WORK, ABC2, 9.30pm

I’LL show you fear, Joan Rivers is saying as she holds up her diary at an empty double page. To her this means everything she tried to do in life didn’t work, nobody cared and she’s been totally forgotten. She turns 75 during this — she’s now 79 — and can’t take a trick. It’s before Fashion Police, and at this point she’s waiting to hear if she’s on Celebrity Apprentice (she is and she wins it) but it’s been a dry old year. This is a fantastic documentary, with some penetrating insights into a pioneering, lacerating comic who, above all else, has survived 50 years in the entertainment industry.
