How to: make a photo collage

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Gadgets -

THE trouble with having a smartphone camera in your pocket is that you tend to take more photos than you can easily share. There are many ways you can combine your images into an attractive collage. One way is to use the Diptic app (99c on both Apple iOS and Google Play). Once you download the app, the first step is to choose your layout, from a classic combination of squares and rectangles to the unusual shapes you will find in the ‘‘Fancy’’ category. You add an image to each part of the layout, selecting the photos from your camera roll or photo stream. Then, for each of the components of your design, you can apply a filter, crop, scale and rotate. You can change the aspect of the overall design, adjust thewidth of your borders and add a pattern to your frame. The options are almost endless. Once you have the design you want, you have the option of saving it in three resolutions. If you’re thinking of getting your artwork framed on a wall, go for large.
