SONY XPERIA TABLET Z
Sony, due mid-year. sony.com.au Sony might not have broken the tablet mouldwith its newest creation, but it does break size records. The Xperia Tablet Z, modelled after its coming Xperia Z smartphone, features a slender 6.9mm thickness that makes this 10.1-inch tablet even slimmer than the iPad Mini. It also weighs just 495g, undercutting the competition by more than 100g. Despite the slim-down, the Tablet Z offers a screen with more pixels than full high-definition (1920x1200), uses a quad-core processor and 2GB RAM, offers an 8-megapixel rear camera and comes with an NFC chip for quick pairing to compatible accessories. It’s also designed to withstand spills and splashes, thanks to a water-resistant coating.
