Great showcase for Victoria

Herald Sun - Switched On - - On The Couch -

I have been pleasantly surprised by the ABC series The Dr Blake Mysteries, based in Ballarat and filmed all around Victoria. It is a great insight into the 1950s in Victoria and a wonderful vehicle to showcase the talents of Craig McLachlan, Nadine Garner and the great John Wood among many others. The attention to details is amazing; we are constantly saying ‘‘ I remember those’’. The show probably won’t get a look-in among the ratings, as it is not on the big channels, but sometimes that ensures quality not just quantity. Already sold to the BBC, and a second series is in production. A great showcase for Australian talent in front of and behind the camera.
